In a once great American time, The 20s,
the swingers would swing and fling
bodies and limbs,
gyration to the wiry sizzle
of brush against snare,
brassy boom
of a bellowing trombone
throughout the room,
and the sax player's eyes
squeeze shut like the pumping
fists thrust into the air
while sweat sprays
the swarm and the room
begins to grow warm
in a once great American time, The 20s.

There is a fantastic use of imagery in this piece, evoking the sensation of the 20s and the jazz era. I can definitely picture what the author is trying to portray. The language is consistent and the structure indicates the spastic nature of the time period. I thoroughly enjoyed this. :)
