Aside from the successful stylistic mimicry of Ms. Caspers, I think that there are a lot of people around campus who share similar feelings, what with all the recent repairs going on and the workers doing their thing right outside the windows. When other people obstinately insist on inconveniencing our lives (regardless of their reasons), their actions DO seem motivated by ill-will. I think we've all had moments where we don't want to let "the construction workers win".CLTurnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07150179147939046717noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299292801138212390.post-36775610675012006312010-02-10T22:14:59.032-08:002010-02-10T22:14:59.032-08:00"If I follow suit will the construction worke..."If I follow suit will the construction workers win?" This line stuck out to me. It questions something that sounds funny, but actually asks a deeper question about the character's personality.alisethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07715614081904051808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299292801138212390.post-277077925580888062010-02-10T21:09:57.553-08:002010-02-10T21:09:57.553-08:00Hey this happened to me too! Construction workers ...Hey this happened to me too! Construction workers woke me up the other day and its really irritating so I can relate. One line that really struck me was "Maybe what I perceive to be too damn early is late afternoon for them, and they fall soundly asleep as soon as the sun begins its 6 o'clock descent." I think this perfectly highlights the different perspectives people can have on one thing. What one sees as an annoyance is someone's job and I think no matter when they started working, someone will be annoyed at the noise.Alfonsohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13022278560541263538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299292801138212390.post-40883073308005230992010-02-10T20:02:29.915-08:002010-02-10T20:02:29.915-08:00This was fun to read, partially because you wrote ...This was fun to read, partially because you wrote this piece well, and the other part being that I think most everyone can relate to being wronged by early bird construction workers. This piece was light and well written, so kudos.Lauren Rossihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10866241407530886317noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6299292801138212390.post-84404990419586227522010-02-10T18:45:41.300-08:002010-02-10T18:45:41.300-08:00You followed Nona Caspers' writing style very ...You followed Nona Caspers' writing style very effectively. This line especially sticks out "Maybe they're doing this on purpose, driven by an ill will and a skewed sense of duty to whomever their loyalties lie." Not only did you capture Nona's stylistic tendencies, but you managed to conjure one of her obscure thoughts that so frequent her book. Bravo!

-AlexAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02191115132077869242noreply@blogger.com
